Wilbert Das, creative director of Diesel and Uxua’s owner, wanted to make a cool place to stay in the Trancoso town. He renovated three fishing houses from the 1500s, using traditional construction techniques and recycled materials. But that’s not to suggest that Uxua suffers from any lack of modern glamour. There is a balance between luxury and a laid-back style that just feels right. So if you’re thinking of traveling to Brazil, don’t miss this spot.
